The Fenty Beauty Edit.

To say the internet lost its mind when Rihanna announced her new beauty range would be a huge understatement and I think the main reason why Fenty Beauty has been doing so well right from the get-go is the inclusive shade range that screams loud and clear that beauty is for everyone. Sure the millennial pink packaging and beautiful honeycomb design are very eye-catching, but it's this fresh approach to beauty that really makes Fenty stand out from the crowd. Today I want to share my thoughts on the products I own.

The real stand out product in my eyes is the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo, which features two powder highlighters, one more work appropriate and suited for the day, and the other more sparkly and fun for the evening. I chose the lightest shade Lighting Dust & Fire Crystal which translates into a silver-ish nude glow on the skin and is perfect for my fair complexion. What I like the most about this product is that it provides a soft understated glow - even if it can be layered for higher intensity, it's not your typical can-be-seen-from-space extreme illuminator - and for this reason it's very beginner friendly and definitely more versatile.

Since brushes are probably my number 1 weakness, it made sense for me to grab the Full Bodied Foundation Brush 110 without a second thought and I must say I'm pretty smitten with this brush. Not only it looks so pretty with the mirror finish ferrule and the pale pink handle and bristles, but it blends creams and liquids like a dream. The synthetic bristles are tightly packed and yet unbelievably soft against the skin and they get into every nook and cranny with ease, providing an air brush finish that is not so different from what a blending sponge would give.

Cream products are a fantastic option to sculpt and add colour to the face in a quick and flattering way, so I was really excited to try the Match Stix Trio. These are multi-purpose cream product - available both individually and in sets of three - that come in an array of shades, either matte or shimmery, to be used to highlight, bronze or contour the face, as well as blush and concealer depending on your skin tone.

The contour Stix is my favourite out of the three I own. I got Amber, a beautiful medium ashy brown which is a great shade for fair and light complexions. This blends beautifully over foundation and gives soft definition thanks to a semi-sheer formula that makes sculpting fairly simple.
Unfortunately I haven't had the best experience with the concealer shade Linen, as it picks on all my dry bits and flakiness around the face and is not particularly kind to my under-eyes either. To me the formula feels a little dry and looks cakey, but I've got the feeling it would perform better on more normal and oilier complexions.
Last but not least, I like Starstruck better on the eyes as a wash of colour rather than on the cheeks, as the shimmer isn't as refined as I'd like and while the frosty pink base colour blends away, the chunks of glitters look very harsh on the skin.

This little taste of the range has definitely left me wanting for more. Next on my list are the lip products - Uncensored Stunna Lip Paint looks divine, and I'm curious to see if Fenty Glow Gloss Bomb will make me fall in love with glosses once again.

    1. I'm obsessed with the brush design, is probably the prettiest I own. The quality of the highlighters is amazing, they're definitely the key product of the range. I really want to check out Metal Moon next - it looks so sumptuous.
