Lush Valentines 2019 Picks.

Between you and me, I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's Day per se, but if soppy cards and cheesy gifts leave me completely unimpressed, I'm always here for the Lush Valentines range. This year's collection might be the most colourful one yet and it's pretty special too, as it combines the usual sweet and romantic bits with witty and suggestive emoji-inspired numbers that are both naughty and nice.
As usual I wanted to buy one of each but with the giant stash waiting at home in mind, I only picked up my absolute favourites. Here are my picks from the 2019 Lush Valentine's day collection.

The first product I grabbed is Love Island body scrub. I was immediately drawn to it as I love Lush scrubs, but what sealed the deal for me is the scent - hello spicy apple pie! The mix of sea salt, sugar and real sand makes this extra gritty and absolutely perfect for a pre-shave buff.

Seeing that Love Boat made a comeback made me really happy, as it was one of my favourites from last year. This is one of the prettiest bath bombs with its cute design and the little hearts that float around in the bathtub as the water turns pink and baby blue. It's infused with the classic sweet orange, lemon and rose oil combination, and as expected it smells divine, like fruity cotton candy and Lush stores.  
Speaking of gorgeous scents, I was seriously excited to try Peachy and, thankfully, it didn't disappoint. This creates the most beautiful bath art that I can only describe as pastel swirl heaven, and fills the room with such sweet and uplifting scent. I really hope that Lush come out with some more peach and davana scented products very soon, as this is spring in a bath.

For obvious reasons, when I first set eyes on Strawberry Whip soap* I knew I had to have it. With fresh strawberries, geranium and jasmine to give a subtle floral kick, this leaves the skin smelling so sweet and delicious, and feeling soft and nourished. The creamy center is like a comforting, moisturizing hug for my dry, winter skin. Plus is a giant strawberry, c'mon. I need one next to every sink.

Last but not least, I'm not the biggest fan of ripe banana scent, but The Big Banana Massage Bar smells so much better than I anticipated. Rather than overly sweet, it's warm and comforting, like freshly baked spicy banana bread, thanks to a generous pinch of clove. I'm automatically obsessed with anything that makes moisturizing my limbs easy and fuss-free, and Lush massage bars are emollient and soften the skin, combining hydration and beautiful, relaxing scents. Soft Coeur Massage Bar* also deserves a mention, as the scent is just unreal, like a dreamy mix of white chocolate and honey - think Scrubee and try not to drool. Good news is, it's available all year round and it's heart-shaped, so very appropriate for V-Day.

Detto tra noi, non sono una grande fan di San Valentino, ma se biglietti sdolcinati e regali zuccherosi mi lasciano indifferente, con la collezione di San Valentino di Lush è tutta un'altra storia. L'assortimento di quest'anno è forse il più colorato di sempre ed è anche molto speciale, perché ai consueti prodotti dolci e romantici affianca tante novità maliziose e un po' ammiccanti ispirate al mondo delle emoji.
Come sempre avrei voluto prendere uno di tutto, ma mi sono data un contegno ed ho acquistato solo i miei preferiti. Ecco cosa ho acquistato della collezione di San Valentino 2019.

Il primo prodotto che ho scelto è lo scrub solido Love Island. Mi ha attirato immediatamente per il suo aspetto spiritoso e perché adoro gli scrub Lush, ma ciò che mi ha veramente convinta ad acquistarlo è il suo profumo irresistibile - ciao torta di mele speziata! Il mix di sale marino, zucchero e sabbia lo rende particolarmente efficace e ideale per un'esfoliazione intensa pre-rasatura.

Il ritorno di Love Boat è stato più che gradito, visto che era uno dei miei preferiti dell'anno passato. E' senza dubbio una delle bath bomb più carine con il suo design delizioso e i piccoli cuoricini di carta che galleggiano nella vasca mentre l'acqua si tinge di rosa e azzurro. E' infusa con la combinazione classica di arance dolci, limone e olio di rosa, e come previsto profuma divinamente, di caramelle alla frutta e botteghe Lush.
E parlando di profumazioni favolose, le mie aspettative per Peachy erano altissime e non sono state disattese. Questa bomba crea dei meravigliosi effetti nell'acqua che potrei descrivere solo come un'esplosione pastello, e riempie la stanza di un profumo intenso e energizzante. Spero che Lush abbia in serbo per noi altri prodotti alla pesca e davana perché è un po' come racchiudere il sole e l'estate nella vasca da bagno.

Per ovvie ragioni, non potevo assolutamente lasciarmi scappare Strawberry Whip*. Con fragole fresche, e geranio e gelsomino ad aggiungere un nonsoché di floreale, questo sapone lascia la pelle deliziosamente profumata, morbidissima e ben nutrita. Il centro cremoso è come un abbraccio confortante e idratante per la mia pelle secca, stressata dall'inverno. E poi è una fragola gigante, suvvia. Me ne serve una per ogni lavandino.

Ultimo ma non per importanza, inizialmente non avevo grandi speranze per l'olio solido The Big Deal perché il profumo di banane mature tende ad essere abbastanza stucchevole, ma è molto più delizioso di quanto avessi anticipato. Invece di essere eccessivamente dolce, è caldo e inebriante, come un plum-cake speziato alla banana appena sfornato, reso speciale da un pizzico generoso di chiodi di garofano. Visto che sono la pigrizia fatta persona, sono automaticamente ossessionata da qualunque cosa renda applicare la crema corpo facile e veloce, e gli oli da massaggio Lush sono emollienti e ammorbidiscono la pelle, combinando idratazione ed oli essenziali rilassanti.
Menzione d'onore per Soft Coeur*, perché ha un profumo a dir poco strepitoso, come un mix perfetto di miele e cioccolato bianco - pensate a Scrubee e cercate di non sbrodolare sulla tastiera. La buona notizia è che è disponibile tutto l'anno ed è a forma di cuore, quindi assolutamente appropriato per il giorno degli innamorati.
